President-Elect Donald Trump attacked former President Bill Clinton on Twitter this morning, mocking him and the Hillary Clinton campaign for losing the election last month.

This was a response to Bill Clinton saying that Trump won because he convinced angry white men to vote for him but that Trump “doesn’t know much,” according to CNN. Clinton also discussed the phone call he had with Trump the day after the election, saying that he was surprised by Trump’s friendly tone.

Trump clearly took issue with this.

Clinton said during his interview that Hillary Clinton lost the election because of FBI Director James Comey, while Donald Trump says in these tweets that it was simply because the Democratic candidate ran a poor campaign.

The president-elect has a point when he says that Hillary Clinton focused on the wrong states during her presidential campaign. In the months leading up to Election Day, Clinton did not visit Wisconsin a single time, yet she did visit red states like Arizona that she hoped to flip blue. Arizona ended up voting for Donald Trump, as did Wisconsin, a traditionally Democratic state.

Something President-Elect Trump did not respond to is the fact that in his recent interview, Bill Clinton mocked Trump’s claim that he won the election in a landslide.

Clinton said, “Landslide? I got something like 370 electoral votes. That was a landslide.”

The former president is referring to the 1992 election, in which he received 370 electors to Geoge H.W. Bush’s 168. Clinton also received 279 electors during the election of 1996, while Bob Dole won 159.

Donald Trump took home 306 Electoral College votes on November 8th compared to Hillary Clinton’s 227. This means that in 45 prior elections, the winning candidate received more electors than Trump did this year. While the circumstances surrounding Trump’s win are certainly historic, the actual margin of victory is not particularly noteworthy.
