As President Donald Trump’s recent executive order suspending immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries faces major legal challenges, well over 100 companies are standing in opposition to the president’s policy.

In the days following the signing of the executive order, a number of CEOs issued statements or sent memos out to their employees, usually saying that their company is made up of immigrants and that they do not support the underlying values of the travel ban.

For instance, Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, sent a memo to his employees which said, “This executive order is one we do not support. We’re a nation of immigrants whose diverse backgrounds, ideas, and points of view have helped us build and invent as a nation for over 240 years…It’s a distinctive competitive advantage for our country – one we should not weaken.”

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that “Trump’s actions are hurting Netflix employees around the world, and are so un-American it pains us all. Worse, these actions will make America less safe (through hatred and loss of allies) rather than more safe.”

Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent said in a statement that the company does “not support this travel ban or any policy that is contrary to our core values and beliefs.”

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said, “We are living in an unprecedented time, one in which we are witness to the conscience of our country, and the promise of the American Dream, being called into question.” He also said the company would hire 10,000 refugees.

Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft and Uber signed an open letter to President Trump stating, “As you contemplate changes to the nation’s complex and interconnected immigration policies, whether business and employment-based visas, refugees or DACA, we hope that you will use us as a resource to help achieve immigration policies that both support the work of American businesses and reflect American values.”

In addition to these statements, over 100 companies recently signed an amicus brief in the case of State of Washington v. Trump, a lawsuit that has made its way to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The amicus brief states that Trump’s executive order “represents a significant departure from the principles of fairness and predictability that have governed the immigration system of the United States for more than fifty years—and the Order inflicts significant harm on American business, innovation, and growth as a result.”
