According to Patch, Hernandez is suspected of stabbing his estranged wife, Nidia Gonzalez, 26, to death inside a Bridgeport, Connecticut apartment.

He also allegedly stabbed another woman, although that woman is expected to survive, Patch reported.

NBC New York reported that police found a bloody scene inside the apartment. “They found a small, cramped one-story basement apartment that was described by police earlier as a blood-soaked, gruesome scene,” reported the television station.

2. Hernandez Allegedly Abducted His Small Daughter, Leading to a Multi-State Amber Alert

The Amber Alert was issued for Aylin Sofia Hernandez, Oscar Hernandez’ child with the victim, Nidia Gonzalez, according to NBC New York.

An eight-hour manhunt ensued, the television station reported.

That’s because, when police arrived at the murder scene, they discovered that Hernandez had taken 6-year-old Aylin when he fled the area.

3. Hernandez Was Deported After Being Previously Convicted of a Felony

Fox News reported that Hernandez is an undocumented immigrant who was previously deported.

“Hernandez is a citizen of El Salvador and had been previously deported on Nov. 27, 2013,” the network reported. “He has prior felony convictions including assault and threatening.”

ICE has placed a detain hold on him, Fox News reported. It’s not clear how Hernandez made it back into the United States after his deportation.

4. Hernandez Was Captured After a Car Accident in Pennsylvania

According to WTNH-TV, the child was rescued when a Pennsylvania state trooper from Philipsburg saw Hernandez’ car on Interstate-99 and tried to stop the vehicle.

“Officials say Hernandez refused to pull over and a pursuit began with other troopers. Hernandez was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed and struck a truck trailer that was also along the interstate,” the television station reported.

That led to a chain reaction, in which the officer’s squad also struck Hernandez’ vehicle. The child suffered only minor injuries, and Hernandez was arrested, according to WTNH.

5. An Argument Had Ensued After a Night of Clubbing, Police Said

ABC 7 reported that an argument had erupted between Hernandez, Gonzalez, and the second woman.

Police told ABC 7 that “Hernandez and the second woman had been at a club earlier in the night” and the second woman also was stabbed multiple times.
