A video taken by a reporter from above Times Square shows a chaotic scene after a car crashed into pedestrians, leaving at least one woman dead and several others injured. You can watch the video above.

The video shows police rushing to the scene as a crowd gathers around the crash. An injured victim can be seen on the sidewalk receiving treatment from first responders. According to CBS News, a 26-year-old man was taken into custody and the incident remains under investigation.

According to CBS New York, the driver, a 26-year-old man from the Bronx, was taken into custody by officers at the scene. The NYPD told the news station the motive of the driver is not believed to be terrorism. The driver was possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The news station reports that the driver has two prior DUI arrests. His name has not yet been released.

The incident happened about noon in Midtown near the corner of 7th Avenue and West 43rd Street, the New York Daily News reports.

The New York Post reports that the car was driven the wrong way up Seventh Avenue for three blocks, striking several people along the way before crashing into a pole at 45th Street and Broadway. Sources told the Post the driver then tried to run away and punched a police officer before he was taken down by several cops. It is not known if the suspect was injured.

His vehicle, a maroon Honda, was left up against a pole on a sidewalk with smoking coming from it.

The conditions of the wounded victims were not immediately available, the New York Times reports.

The bomb squad was called in to investigate the car as a precaution, authorities said.
