Right-wing activists Laura Loomer and Jack Posobiec were removed from a New York City theater after they disrupted a performance of “Julius Caesar” with protest June 16.

It started with Loomer, who walked from the crowd and onto the stage screaming to the crowd that the controversial play portrays violence against President Donald Trump. She was greeted with boos from the crowd and removed by security.

As the audience at Shakespeare in the Park at The Public Theater applauded, Posobiec stood up in the crowd, pointing and accusing audience members of being Nazis and inciting terrorism” against the president.

The two were protesting the play because it’s a modern-day portrayal of the Roman Republic and it includes the death of a character resembling Trump. The main character, Caesar, is played by the Trump look-alike. At the climax of the play, Caesar is stabbed and killed by a group of senators that conspired together. The remainder of the play shows the response to Caesar’s murder.

1. Posobiec & Others Set Up a GoFundMe Account to Help Loomer

After Loomer was taken out by security at the theater, Posobiec said that she was arrested and charged with trespassing. She was being held at a Central Park jail and was released hours later.

To help pay for Loomer’s legal defense, the media Conservative outlet they both work for — The Rebel — set up a page on its we website called FreeLaura.com to take contributions from around the world.

A legal defense fund campaign was also set up on WeSearchr, and it raised almost $5,000 in less than three hours.


2. Both Loomer & Posobiec Work at The Rebel

Loomer and Posobiec are described as being right-wing journalists and activists. The Rebel produces different forms of Conservative media such as news articles, opinion pieces and activism.

Posobiec’s biography says that he’s a writer, a filmmaker and a “recovering” political operative. Loomer’s biography lists her specialties as investigative reporting and activism. According to her bio, she’s Jewish and her past investigations have “uncovered fraud and corruption within the Hillary Clinton campaign, Islamic extremism on college campuses, flaws and loopholes within the U.S. immigration system and widespread voter fraud.”

Loomer’s “passions” include politics, anti-Semitism, immigration, terrorism and the Islamification of the West.”


3. A Complaint Was Filed After Loomer Tried to ‘Organize’ a Student Club for ISIS

In 2015, when Loomer was a reporter at Project Veritas, a complaint was filed against her because she shot an undercover video while trying to advocate for a student club that supports ISIS at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.

The complaint that was filed by a professor at the school said that Loomer didn’t tell officials at the school that they were being recorded. When the professor found out that Loomer was recording, he said that he told her “Any audio or video recorded without permission cannot be used,” The Washington Times reported.

Project Veritas is a news outlet that seeks to investigate and expose political and social corruption.

Loomer was a student at the school at the time and was suspended.

“It is reprehensible to think that any organization would acquire video and edit it in such way as to denigrate the reputation of Barry University or its staff,” school president Sister Linda Bevilacqua said in a statement..


4. Posobiec Is a Veteran of the Navy

Posobiec is described as a nationalist that’s a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a student at Temple University where he double-majored in political science and broadcast journalist. After graduating, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Asia. He did that for five years and returned to the U.S. to work as a volunteer on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, The New Yorker reported.

After serving as a volunteer, he joined The Rebel and has gained a strong social following ever since. Posobiec has attended parties and rallies for figures of the far right, such as Milo Yiannopoulos.

Posobiec’s biography says that he’s fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has worked for four presidential campaigns in his past.


5. Loomer Put a Burqa on the ‘Fearless Girl’ Statue

Loomer caused more controversy when she put a burqa on the “Fearless Girl” statue on Wall Street in New York City “to expose” the hypocrisy of feminism and social justice,” Loomer wrote on The Rebel.

As Loomer approached the statue to put the burqa on, a man ran and tried to grab it from her. She stood next to the statue with a sign that said: “There is no such thing as an Islamic feminist.”

Loomer described her reasoning for the act by writing that it’s a double standard in today’s society.
