Pink Out the Night Photos: Pictures from Rallies Around the Country

Tonight was “Pink Out the Night,” an event where sunset rallies were held across the country to show support for Planned Parenthood. The event was intended to “turn the Internet pink,” and show Senators voting on health care how many people support Planned Parenthood. Events and rallies were held around the country. Those who didn’t have events nearby were encouraged to hold their own event and their neighborhood by standing outside with a pink light or decorating their house in pink lights and pink tissue paper for the night. Planned Parenthood shared tips on how to make your own pink light on your phone here.

Pink Out the Night events took place all over the country, with more than 50 events and rallies taking place in 20 states. You can see a map showing how many official events took place below:

This event should not be confused with Pink Out Day, which already took place on March 29.

If you can’t attend an event, Planned Parenthood provided other ideas for showing support. You can join a Thunderclap or tweet something with the hashtag #PinkOut. You can turn your social media profile photo pink or call your Senators by texting PINK to 22422 or visiting istandwithpp.org/call. Planned Parenthood also encouraged supporters to tag their senators on social media, especially Twitter or Facebook. They encouraged supporters to also tweet to celebrities to pass on the word about the event.

“We need a massive show of strength to demonstrate just how important Planned Parenthood is to the millions of patients who depend on our health centers for care,” Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards said.
