University of Texas at Dallas: Bomb Threat Reported

A bomb threat has called an evacuation at the University of Texas at Dallas. The school tweeted at around 2:45 p.m. local time that those on campus were to evacuate.

The school later said official received a bomb threat and they are working with police to “make sure the campus is safe.” The tweets did not say how the bomb threat was received. Less than an hour after the warning, the campus was given the all-clear. The bomb threat was determined to be a hoax.

There are over 26,000 students enrolled at the school though it’s unclear how many would have been on campus at this time of year. The school is located at 800 West Campbell Road in Richardson, Texas, 18 miles north of Dallas.

WFAA’s David Goins tweeted that employees who were waiting to retrieve their cars were calm, despite being forced to wait in the rain.
