Donald Trump Jr.’s Family & Children: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Donald Trump Jr., the son of the President of the United States, has been married for more than a decade and has five children of his own.

Here’s what you need to know about his family.


1. Donald Jr. & Vanessa Trump Have Been Married Since November 2005, After Meeting at a Fashion Show

Donald Jr. and Vanessa Haydon met in 2003 at a fashion show, where Donald Trump introduced the two. They just made small talk at the time, but met again at a birthday party about six weeks later. At that point they really hit it off. Donald Jr. later proposed to Vanessa with a $100,00 engagement ring that he got for free in exchange for doing promotional work for Bailey, Banks & Biddle jewelry.

They were married on November 15, 2005 at the Mar-a-Lago Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida. Vanessa designed her own wedding gown.


2. Donald Jr. & Vanessa Have Five Children, Ages 3 to 10

Donald and Vanessa have five children. They have two daughters. Kai Madison, 10, and Chloe Sophia, 3. They also have three sons, Donald John Trump III, 8; Tristan Milos, 5; and Spencer Frederick, 4. They’re very proud of their children and often post photos of them on social media.


3. Vanessa Is a House Wife and a Designer

Vanessa now focuses on being a house wife and raising their children. Donald Jr. once spoke about Vanessa being at home a lot while he was on the road. “I’m on the road a lot. I have five children at home. I have a wife. You know, she’s a tough woman. She puts up with me and she puts up with my kids and does a great job raising them. But she can’t stop an aggressive bad guy who’s out to get her. She needs that… she has a concealed weapons permit. She practices with me and she enjoys it. It’s a big part of our lifestyle. And we need to be able to defend ourselves,” he told SilencerCo last September.

Vanessa is also involved in charities, including serving on the executive committee of Eric Trump’s foundation. In 2010, she started a handbag line, La Poshett. She designed her own wedding gown.


4. Donald Jr. is Very Supportive of His Father, President Trump, and His Mother, Ivana Trump

Don Jr. is the oldest son of President Donald Trump and Trump’s first wife, Ivana. Eric and Ivanka are his full-blooded siblings, also born to Trump and Ivana. His half-sister, Tiffany, was born to Donald Trump and Marla Maples. His half-brother Barron is his youngest sibling, born to Donald Trump and Melania Trump in 2006.

He’s very supportive of both his parents, and also appears to have a good relationship with First Lady Melania Trump. He campaigned frequently for his dad in 2016, but has not sought to join politics himself. Rather, he works with his brother Eric, running the Trump Organization.


5. Donald Jr. Was Very Close to His Maternal Grandfather

Donald Jr.’s grandparents are Fred  and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, and Milos Zelnicek and Marie Zelnickova. Fred was a real estate developer and philanthropist who lived until 1999. He died at the age of 93 after suffering from Alzheimer’s for six years. Mary died the next year at the age of 88.

Donald Jr. was very close with his maternal grandfather, Milos Zelnicek. Zelnicek was an electrician and outdoorsman As a child, during his parents’ divorce, he learned to hunt and fish while spending a great deal of time with his grandfather in then-Czechoslovakia. The New York Times said that Zelnicek was like a father figure to Don Jr. during those years. Zelnicek died of a heart attack when he was only 63.
