LIVE STREAM: President Trump Holds Major Jobs Announcement

President Donald Trump is holding a press conference to announce a major development in his vow to bring jobs back to American soil.

Trump will is holding the press conference at 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, and it can be seen via live stream in the video at the top of the page.

According to media reports, Trump is expected to announce that Foxconn, one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world, will be adding a new plant in Wisconsin, adding as many as 10,000 employees.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the facility will make flat-screen displays in Kenosha, located in southeastern Wisconsin. It just-so-happens to be located within Speaker of the House Paul Ryan’s congressional district.

In an exclusive interview with WTMJ 4 News, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said Trump became aware of the vacant land in Kenosha during a visit to Wisconsin back in April.

“He said ‘What is that, why is all that land vacant?’…He said ‘That land should be used,’” Priebus said. “So when Foxconn came into the White House into the Oval Office, the president said, ‘I know a good spot, that you should go, that place in Kenosha’ and then all of sudden the conversation started and the governor came on board and Walker’s doing lot of work ever since.”

After Trump was elected in November, Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou had said that the company was looking to invest somewhere around $7 billion in the U.S. and add somewhere between 30,000-50,000 jobs to the U.S. economy.

Foxconn is a Taiwanese company and has over 1 million workers in its factories across Europe, Asia and South America. It’s primarily known for manufacturing parts for use with Apple’s iPhone. It also has contracts with companies such as Amazon, Google, Intel, Microsoft and Nintendo. Its total revenue in 2015 was a remarkable $140 billion.
