The New Yorker Magazine has published audio excerpts of the phone conversation that Anthony Scaramucci had with reporter Ryan Lizza.

You can listen to the audio excerpts below; they’re sandwiched in between Lizza discussing the infamous call, which immediately preceded Scaramucci’s downfall as Donald Trump’s chief of staff.

The New Yorker reported on August 3 that, in the segment on the New Yorker Radio Hour, “Ryan Lizza and David Remnick listen to excerpts from the call and discuss what they suggest about the Trump Administration.”

Among the more infamous comments that Scaramucci made: “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c**k.” TMZ dubbed the conversation “insane,” and it was met with similar adjectives by other news outlets at the time due to the unprecedented attacks being publicly lobbed by one then-White House official toward others in the same administration.

Scaramucci found himself embroiled in controversy as a result of the call, in which he called then Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Bannon names and railed against leakers in the Trump administration. It wasn’t long thereafter that both Priebus and Scaramucci were no longer in their White House jobs, with Priebus being replaced by General John Kelly, who is widely perceived as having then ousted Scaramucci. Scaramucci was also beset by a series of stories fueled by New York media outlets about his then-pregnant wife, Deidre, filing for divorce. She has since given birth to their son.

Anthony Scaramucci is a multi-millionaire Long Island-born financier who is now rebounding with reports that he plans to establish a new communications effort to assist the president outside the White House. Since he left the White House, a memo that Scaramucci wrote to overhaul the White House communications office also leaked to the media, keeping him in the headlines, CNN reported.
