If you prefer to keep your stuffing simple, here is a recipe your Thanksgiving guests will love. We like to stuff and cook it inside the turkey, for optimal flavor. However, you can also cook it in a buttered, covered baking dish.

First, gather these 5 ingredients:

2 medium white onions, diced
4 stalks of celery, peeled and diced
1 loaf of white bread, diced (You can use any type of bread, baguette or roll. We prefer white bread, but wheat or grain are fine too. You can also combine different types of bread. Staler loaves are most effective.)
2 cups of whole milk (Use whole milk for a creamier taste, but you can substitute with low fat or skim.)
1/4 stick of butter (Margarine also works.)

To make the stuffing:

1. Soften the butter or margarine.
2. Sautee the onions and celery at medium heat with butter. Sweat the mixture for 10 minutes. Be sure not to brown.
3. In a mixing bowl, add the diced bread cubes.
4. Add the mixture of celery and onions to the bread and then add the milk. Stir gently until well mixed and the bread is coated evenly.
5. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Additional tips to note:

The vegetables used can be replaced with ones like carrots or sweet potatoes.
For a sweet flavor, add fruit such as apples, cranberries, raisins or citrus zest.
Toss in cooked sausage or mushrooms for a heartier taste.

The next day, if you have any left over, it tastes just as good warmed up in a nonstick pan.
