He’s 5 years old, he loves dinosaurs, and he constantly uses the word “apparently.” This is Noah Ritter, a new Internet sensation that was created when Sofia Ojeda of Pennsylvania’s Newswatch 16 handed him a microphone to talk about his experience at a county fair.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. His Video From the Wayne County Fair Went Viral
Last weekend, WNEP reporter Sofia Ojeda attended the Wayne County fair in Eastern Pennsylvania and decided to interview the precocious 5-year-old about the fair. Ojeda asks him about the ride he went on, and the viewers instead heard about how Ritter doesn’t watch the news because he’s a kid:
Apparently I don’t watch the news because apparently because I’m a kid apparently every time grandpa gives me the remote after the Powerball.
In the video, which you can watch above, Ritter also grips the microphone as confidently as if he were a real news anchor.
2. He Killed It on ‘Good Morning America’
Ritter continued to steal America’s hearts during his appearance on Good Morning America when he told co-host Michael Strahan that he used to like the Giants, Strahan’s former NFL team, but his grandfather “brainwashed” him into liking the Steelers. You can watch that video above.
3. Stephen Colbert Called Him a ‘Natural Born Newsman’
Even satire newsman Stephen Colbert couldn’t help but sound off about the rising fame of Noah Ritter. Cobert said in his show on Wednesday night that Ritter was “a natural born newsman” already breaking stories about how rides are scaring kids half to death.
4. His Grandfather Jack Is His ‘Best Buddy’
Ritter is staying with his grandfather, the one who makes him watch the Powerball, for the summer in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. In the interview above, he tells the reporter that his grandfather is “his best buddy because he always listens to me.”
In other highlights of the interview, he says he knows the word “paleontologist” because he went to school and has a brain the size of a pelican. At one point he also asks someone for a “refreshing drink.”
5. The Original Video Has Over 8 Million Views
Since the video was published on August 4, it has already received over 8 million views.
