Is the Kid’s Chorus Version of ‘Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)’ Serious? Yes.

A video showing preteens singing a choral version of Silento’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” has gone viral. The video has been viewed over 5 million times on Facebook, mostly from the viral content page of “White People LOL.”

But is the performance serious or is it a joke?

According to The Root, the performance is 100% serious. The children featured rehearsing in the viral video are students at Desert Canyon Middle School in Scottsdale, Arizona. You can watch the video of the full performance above.

The story broke when Julia Salmons, sibling to a choir member tweeted the above tweet, which ended up being retweeted nearly 60,000 times. Following up on the tweet, local Fox news correspondent Liz Kotalik went to the school and got a special performance of the song, the footage of which eventually went viral.
