Election Day is here, which means that people across the nation are casting their votes. In addition, people are getting ready to gather tonight for election watch parties, awaiting the big results. What are some last-minute ideas for your watch party? Here's a little checklist of what to think about for your event:
Make sure your playlist is set for some patriotic and fun music. From Miley Cyrus' "Party In the USA" to "God Bless the U.S.A." by Lee Greenwood to "R.O.C.K. In the USA" by John Mellencamp, create something to get into the patriotic spirit.
Themes are still a good idea. You could really embrace the candidate of your choice and make your party revolve around Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. Print out the faces of the candidates to wear as masks, frame quotes from the candidates, the list goes on and on. Red, white and blue is also a good theme. You could also center the party around your favorite political TV show or movie like the TV show Scandal or the dark comedy movie Election.
Games are a great idea to relieve some tension. You can turn regular games into election-inspired activities. Pin the tail on Trump or Clinton. Have blank maps for guests to color or fill in as a state closes during the night. Drinking games are always a good idea as well. Drink whenever someone says "Hillary" or "Trump."
Now let's get into the food.
