TBS has the rights to the entire American League playoffs. The network’s “A” announcing team of Ernie Johnson, Ron Darling and Cal Ripken has the call of the Royals-Angels series, with Matt Winer serving as the roving reporter.

The crew got off to a rough start in the Wild Card game Tuesday, when it was widely criticized for sucking the life out of one of the most entertaining games in recent memory.

Casey Stern will host TBS’ studio coverage, with three-time Cy Young Award winner Pedro Martinez and nine-time All-Star Gary Sheffield — rivals in their days with the Red Sox and Yankees, respectively — serving as studio analysts and probably engaging in some entertaining exchanges like the one featured in the video above, in which Sheffield presented Martinez with a box of cigars to thank him for giving up two of his 509 career home runs.
