It’s as if Quentin Tarantino himself directed the LA Kings 2014 championship ceremony.

After each player from tonight’s opening roster was announced and Luc Robitaille and Bob Miller gave their speeches, the Stanley Cup made a dramatic entrance that only a team from Los Angeles could pull off.

Yes, that’s the Stanley Cup being lowered from the Staples Center ceiling in a glass case that looks like it was scrubbed in enough Windex to supply the window washers at the Louvre for a month.

The San Jose Sharks, who were eliminated from the playoffs last season after blowing a three game lead in their series against the Kings, had to sit and watch as 34.5 pounds of silver dangled in front of them. Taunting them as it spiraled all the way down to center ice, surrounded by a bunch of guys who not only embarrassed them last spring, but who just had one of these ceremonies two years ago, celebrating their 2012 Championship.
