In the 3rd quarter of Sunday night’s game between the Patriots and Chargers, Patriots defensive back Devin McCourty appeared to have an interception and return touchdown, but a helmet-to-helmet call on Brandon Browner for his hit on LaDarius Green called back the touchdown and gave the Chargers a fresh set of downs.
Rivers eventually threw an interception to Patriots linebacker Akeem Ayers later in the drive, negating the costly penalty.
