Montreal Canadiens legend Jean Beliveau will be laid to rest Wednesday afternoon, eight days after the long-time Habs captain died at the age of 83.

Beliveau, who played 21 seasons in Montreal and won more Stanley Cups than any other player in history, was honored in an emotional ceremony before the Habs’ game against the Canucks Tuesday night at the Bell Centre.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman are expected to be among those in attendance.
