Virginia and Duke will still likely get No. 1 seeds when the NCAA Tournament field is announced Sunday evening, but an ACC Tournament title is not happening for either school this year.

No. 5 seed North Carolina knocked off top-seeded Virginia and second-seeded Notre Dame easily beat No. 2 Duke on Friday to set up their game for the league’s automatic bid.

North Carolina vs. Notre Dame can be seen on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.

Neither the Tar Heels (24-10) nor the Irish (28-5) need the automatic bid as both were NCAA Tournament locks. But an ACC Tournament win gets a banner in the rafters and can’t hurt when the selection committee is choosing the seeds for the Big Dance.
