Real Madrid sits second in La Liga, five points ahead of Atletico Madrid, and beat Rayo Vallecano 2-0 on April 8th, 2015. Eibar beat Malaga 1-0 on April 7th, 2015 and is 14th in La Liga table with 31 points. Real Madrid beat Eibar 4-0 on November 22nd, 2014.
Real Madrid had been out of form in their five games previous to this weekend, only 1-3-1, but a 9-1 win over Granada and the aforementioned 2-0 win over Rayo Vallecano have Real Madrid on the right track. Cristiano Ronaldo is the most in form, as he has six goals in those two games, and James Rodriguez, who missed two months with a foot injury, was outstanding in the Granada game and scored against Rayo Vallecano. Real Madrid has to have their focus on the Champions League match in the middle of the week, as they play Atletico Madrid on April 14th, 2015 in the quarterfinals.
Eibar, on the other hand, had not won since January 10th, 2015 against Getafe when they beat Malaga on April 7th. Eibar went 0-2-9 in those 11 games and is now only six points away from demotion to the Spanish Segunda division in 2015-2016. Eibar has not scored more than one goal since that January 10th victory and only has scored nine goals in 14 games in 2015.
