Mauricio Pochettino returns to St Mary’s for the first time this weekend as his Tottenham Hotspur side face Southampton in the Premier League. And Saints fan have a treat in stall for him: they plan to turn St Mary’s orange, in homage to current manager Ronald Koeman and as a sign to the Argentine Pochettino of just how little they’re missing him.

Just one solitary point separates the two sides, with a Europa League place on the line for whoever can finish sixth. While Southampton fans would be delighted to qualify for Europe given the overhaul in personnel they suffered in the summer, one suspects that Spurs would have mixed emotions about another return to Thursday night action again next year: Pochettino’s men have played 52 games this season already, compared to just 40 for The Saints.

Southampton will be without Victor Wanyama, Fraser Forster and Jay Rodriguez, while Spurs will be without fullback Kyle Walker. Hugo Lloris’ knee injury will be assessed before the game.

In the UK, BT Sport 1 has live coverage of the game starting from 12:00pm BST (kick-off: 12:45pm). In the States, NBC Sports has live coverage from 7:00am ET.
