WWE Monday Night RAW Results & Highlights for April 27th, 2015

Extreme Rules 2015

Seth Rollins retained his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton at Extreme Rules.

When the dust settled in the Allstate Arena at Extreme Rules, Roman Reigns reigned over the Big Show, John Cena survived Rusev to retain his United States Championship and Seth Rollins defeated Randy Orton at his own game by utilizing an RKO to HIS advantage and walking out of the cage to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This week’s Monday Night RAW emanated live from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Here is what went down on tonight’s Monday Night RAW.

King of the Ring First Round Results

Dolph Ziggler vs. Bad News Barrett: Sheamus came out at the end of a back-and-forth match between Ziggler and Barrett to remind Ziggler that he buried his face on the Celtic Warrior’s arse at Extreme Rules.

Off of the distraction, Barrett hit Ziggler with a Buhammer Elbow for the 1-2-3 and to advance to tomorrow night’s WWE Network Special of the final three matches.

R-Truth vs. Stardust: R-Truth defeated Stardust with a Lie Detector to advance to face Barrett tomorrow night on the WWE Network.

Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus: Ambrose and Sheamus clashed in the third King of the Ring match of the evening.

After Ambrose and Sheamus brawled to the outside, Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick. Ziggler then rushed the ring and attacked Sheamus, who fled over the barricade and into the crowd.

Sheamus actually won the match by disqualification, advancing to tomorrow night’s special on the WWE Network.

Neville vs. Luke Harper: The Man That Gravity Forgot who has now being known as “The Sensation” took on Luke Harper in the final King of the Ring match of the night.

Neville unleashed his entire repertoire of aerial moves against Harper. Harper tried to defeat Neville with a sit-out powerbomb, but Neville kicked out at two.

After hitting Harper with a kick in the face in the corner late in the match, Neville ascended to the top rope and hit a Red Arrow for the 1-2-3. He’ll advance to take on Sheamus tomorrow night.

Randy Orton & Roman Reigns Made Their Presence Known in the WWE Title Hunt

The Authority opened up RAW by praising their collective efforts with helping Seth Rollins win the WWE World Hevyweight Championship. Rollins and Kane continued to spar with each other on the side, and this time Triple H and Stephanie McMahon didn’t interupt.

But Randy Orton AND Roman Reigns did, each making strong claims as to why they should have a WWEWHC match at Payback. Kane made a tag team match for later in the night; him and Rollins vs. Orton and Reigns.

He also said that by the end of the night the WWE Universe would decide who Rollins’ and the WWEWHC’s fate.

Bray Wyatt Reveals His Next Target

The Eater of World made his presence known on Monday Night RAW as he targeted Ryback immediately after defeating Bo Dallas.

Wyatt didn’t say anything afterward. Follow the buzzards

Rusev Sends a Message to John Cena Through Heath Slater

John Cena didn’t have an Open Challenge tonight because Rusev attacked Slater before he could make his way down to the ring.

The WWE Universe HAS taken more of a liking to Lana lately, which Rusev has been incredibly irate about.

The Main Event of Payback Was Revealed

In the match of the night, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton defeated Seth Rollins and Kane. The Authority continued to implode as Rollins accidentally hit Kane with a suicide dive late in the match — that almost didn’t connect all together.

Kane eventually lost his cool and attacked Rollins, throwing him back in the ring. Reigns hit a Superman Punch and Orton hit the RKO and Rollins for the victory.

After the match, Kane revealed what the WWE Universe had decided for the main event of Payback: a triple threat match.

Seth Rollins’ ‘Plan’ Worked to Perfection & How Will Randy Orton Respond?

Extreme Rules 2015

The Cage Match was designed to keep the Authority out at Extreme Rules, but did no such thing. Now that Randy Orton officially lost, will he be forced to go to the back of the line so a new contender — maybe roman Reigns — can emerge for the WWEWHC or will the Viper make his presence known on RAW?

How will Seth Rollins respond directly to Orton and potential newcomers gunning for his championship?

The King of the Ring is Set to Return

(WWE.com)

(WWE.com)

According to Cageside Seats, tonight’s Monday Night RAW will be packed with King of the Ring matches leading to a special to crown the winner on the WWE Network.

The King of the Ring has been on a long hiatus since 2010. The last King of the Ring winner was Sheamus.

Going by the bracket that WWE released, it will most likely be a Dean Ambrose vs. Bad News Barrett Final or Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler Final.

How Will John Cena React to the Authority’s Payback Decision?

Extreme Rules 2015

At Extreme Rules, John Cena won the grueling Russian Chain Match when he successfully touched the fourth turnbuckle just before Rusev could. After the match, an irate Rusev confronted Lana backstage who then spoke to the Authority to have a match made for Payback next month. According to WWE.com:

Furious after his defeat, Rusev berated Lana in the locker room area, leading The Ravishing Russian to meet with The Authority and secure a U.S. Title “I Quit” Match for The Super Athlete at WWE Payback. Will Rusev make the “Never Give Up” Superstar say the two words that aren’t in his vocabulary? Find out Sunday, May 17, live on the award-winning WWE Network!

Cena never quits, ever, and he never backs down from a challenge. Will Cena be a man of his word and continue his open challenges despite the news for Payback?

Other Notes:

Extreme Rules 2015

– Dean Ambrose defeated Luke Harper in a Chicago Street Fight at Extreme Rules. What is next for the Unstable one?

– Dolph Ziggler, surprisingly, defeated Sheamus at Extreme Rules and forced the Irishman to kiss his rear end. What is next for these two? Possibly the King of the Ring crown? The Show-off and self-anointed best wrestler in the company would surely love that notch in his belt, wouldn’t he?

– According to the rumor mill, Bray Wyatt’s next feud is scheduled to be with Ryback. If this is the case, expect Wyatt to interfere in a Ryback match or tell the WWE Universe of his intentions tonight.

Extreme Rules 2015

– The New Day defeated Cesaro and Tyson Kidd for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules. Expect Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Wodds to re-implement “The Freebird Rule” — when two of any three members of a team are involved in the match — when defending the Tag Titles.

– After defeating Naomi, what is next for WWE Diva’s Champion Nikki Bella until Paige gets back? (I personally would like to see a face vs. face match between Nikki and Brie for the Divas Championship).
