Tom Brady has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the 2015 season over Deflategate and the sportsbooks are reacting.

The Patriots are set to open the NFL season on Thursday, September 10 at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The opening line for the game was Patriots by 6.5, but after word of Brady’s suspension, the line has moved drastically.

Many sportsbooks pulled the line off the board while waiting for Brady’s punishment, and it will likely be adjusted as the season approaches.

In Nevada, the Patriots remained slight favorites at several books, according to Vegas Insider, ranging from a 1-point to 2.5-point edge.

According to OddsShark.com, BetOnline has moved the line to even, while TopBet has put the Patriots as a -1 favorite.

The Steelers opened as a +230 underdog on the moneyline, with the Patriots a -285 favorite. TopBet now has the two teams at -110 on the moneyline.

The over/under has also been adjusted with word of Brady’s suspension and the possibility of a low-scoring game. The opening over/under was 54.5. BetOnline moved that to 48.5 and TopBet set it at 49 points, according to OddsShark.

If Brady’s suspension is held up on appeal, second-year quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is likely to be the one under center for New England against the Steelers and veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
