Defending Women’s World Cup champion Japan is a step closer to a repeat, advancing to the quarterfinals against Australia, which pulled off a 1-0 upset of Brazil.
Japan held off the Netherlands 2-1 to make it to the final 8.
The match is set for Saturday, June 27, from Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.
It will air on FOX Sports 1 at 4 p.m. Eastern. The winner advances to a semifinal set for Wednesday, July 1.
Japan is 4th in the latest FIFA rankings, Australia 10th.
