La Liga champion Barcelona and Serie A champion Juventus will battle in the Champions League final on June 6, 2015 in Berlin, Germany. Barcelona beat Bayern Munich in the semifinals to earn a berth in the and Juventus beat Real Madrid in their semifinal. Juventus is in their eighth European championship while Barcelona is in their eighth.

Barcelona has been outstanding during the Champions League season and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is the leading scorer in the competition, with 10 goals in 12 appearances. Barcelona has scored two or more goals in nine of the past ten Champions League games. Barcelona is fresh off of a La Liga title after a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid and won the Copa del Rey title over Athletico Bilbao as well on May 30. Barcelona’s last Champions League final was a 3-1 win over Manchester United in 2011, their third championship in six seasons.

Juventus has been one of the stingiest defensive teams in the Champions League this season, allowing 0.58 goals per match and posting six shutouts. Juventus is 6-3-1 in their past 10 Champions League matches, only losing 1-0 to Olympiacos in Group A play. As well as winning Serie A, Juventus is the Coppa Italia champions, beating Lazio 2-1 on May 20 for their 10th Coppa Italia title. In their last Champions League final, in 2003, Juventus lost 3-2 on penalties to AC Milan after a 0-0 draw for 120 minutes.

Juventus and Barcelona have only faced off nine times in history, with Juventus holding a 4-2-3 advantage in the fixtures.
