WATCH: Knicks Fan Cries as Team Drafts Kristaps Porzingis

The New York Knicks had the 4th overall pick in the NBA Draft and selected Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis. The draft is at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and was full of Knicks fans. The selection was met with a chorus of boos, but the lasting image of the night will be this young man.

Moments after the selection this young Knicks fan let his emotions out as he was caught on national television crying. Cheer up, sir. Porzingis could be the real deal. He is a 7 foot big man with the shooting touch of a guard. If Porzingis could put on weight he could a real star in the league.

Despite the boos, this is where Porzingis wants to be. He told The Sporting News the following:

“That’s my dream, play for the Knicks, basketball city, big spotlight. I think I can take it. I would love to be part of or a leader of that rebuilding team. For me, at any time, I will be ready, I will be waiting for my moment, if it is now at the beginning of the season or later on in the season, if they want me to get stronger, I’ll get stronger. I will do the work they want me to do.”

Hopefully his play on the court can make things right for this young fan.
