14 teams recorded nine or more hits yesterday, including the Yankees, who exploded for 21 runs on 19 hits. The Yankees have won six straight, and nine of their last ten games. They’ve also scored six or more runs in four straight games. Tonight they face the Rangers’ Colby Lewis, who has been spotty so far this season, recording 10 wins despite a 4.49 ERA. With a full day of baseball ahead, don’t feel obligated to have some pinstripes on your roster because of last night’s display.

On the the lineup:

Today’s Pitchers: Kershaw & Colon

Kershaw is always worth the money. A true ace, Kershaw put up a nasty 49.5 points in his complete game shutout against the Mets. Tonight he goes against the A’s, who are ranked 26th in batting average after the All-Star break.

Bartolo Colon gets the other pick, and it’s as much about the Padres as it is Colon. San Diego’s bats have gone quiet, and they haven’t scored more than 3 runs in 8 games. Colon doesn’t get a ton of strikeouts, but has the potential to go deep into the game.

Featured Hitters: Desmond & Eaton

Eaton takes a six-game hitting streak into tonight’s matchup against Boston and Rick Porcello. Porcello has struggled against the White Sox, and their hitter have a career average of .333 against him. Eaton has an OPS of 1.076 since the break, a better number than David Ortiz and Chris Davis.

Ian Desmond has also been hot lately, posting 7 RBI in his last ten games. The Nats were shut down by Jose Fernandez last night, so look for them to pick it back up tonight against Koehler.

Turn $3 into $800 with DraftKings’ MLB $10K Deep Moonshot fantasy contest, which gets underway tonight at 7:05 p.m. Eastern.
