WATCH: Yankees Pitcher Bryan Mitchell Takes Line Drive to the Face

You might want to get yourself emotionally ready for this one. It’s not pretty.

New York Yankees pitcher Bryan Mitchell took a hard line drive directly to the face in the top of the second inning on Monday night against the Minnesota Twins. Mitchell, who had been bumped in the starting lineup earlier, was squaring off against Eduardo Nunez-  a former Yankee.

Check out the scary moment here but brace yourself because it’s a pretty jarring moment:

Mitchell, of course, left the game but walked off the field under his own power. He kept a towel over his face while walking off the grass accompanied by Yankees team trainers.

The right-hander was later released from the hospital and the team reported that he had sustained a small nasal fracture. He’ll be monitored for any concussion symptoms over the next few days.
