The Houston Texans head to New Orleans today to play the Saints in some Sunday afternoon football. It is the third preseason game for both teams so expect the starters to play more than a normal preseason game.
Brian Hoyer was named the starting quarterback for the Texans earlier this week. It will be interesting to see how he looks in extended minutes with his receivers. The running back position is also one to watch for the Texans. With Arian Foster out due to injury, both Alfred Blue and Jonathan Grimes are battling for the starting position.
For the Saints, keep an eye on receiver Brandin Cooks. Cooks had a good rookie season before an injury forced him to miss the end of the season. Quarterback Drew Brees will be looking for a new top target with Jimmy Graham now playing for Seattle. Cooks could be that guy. Also, watch how the Saints use new running back C.J. Spiller in their offense. Some have compared him to Darren Sproles, but the two are slightly different players.
