The Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals begin their preseason campaigns Saturday night with a meeting at U of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

Although preseason football means nothing in terms of the standings, it’s never too difficult to pick out the intriguing storylines. For the Cardinals, it will be the play of the running backs. Last year’s starter Andre Ellington, enticing rookie David Johnson and Marion Grice have all missed chunks of training camp with hamstring injuries, leading the Cardinals to reportedly offer a one-year deal to Chris Johnson.

With Carson Palmer healthy, and a stout defense, Arizona looks capable of replicating last year’s 11-win campaign, but the team will be anxious to get some production out of the running game, even if it’s only the preseason.

For the Chiefs, a pair of youngsters are worth keeping your eye on. De’Anthony Thomas, the former Oregon ball-carrier, has moved full-time to wide receiver, where he has the explosive ability to put on a show, while rookie Marcus Peters, who has impressed in training camp, will be seeing his first live NFL action.

Kickoff is at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 15. The Chiefs broadcast is on KCTV 5, and the Cardinals broadcast is on ABC-15, but if you can’t get to TV, here’s how to watch online:
