Lazio and Bayer Leverkusen will meet on Tuesday in the first of a two-leg playoff between the two sides to make up one of the 32 clubs in the Champions League group stage.

The teams last met in the competition in 1999/2000 (both matches ended in a 1-1 draw), when they were two of the strongest clubs in the world. Lazio reached the quarterfinals of the competition that season and Leverkusen made it all the way to the final in 2002.

Manchester United target Lucas Biglia will play in what could be one of his final matches for Lazio. The 29-year-old forward has conceded he may leave the club soon with the transfer window closing in two weeks.
