LSU Tigers 14-10-14-0 — 45
Box Score

LSU dominated Auburn from start to finish and ended the game with a 45-21 victory. Most people will remember the game as the Leonard Fournette show. Fournette made several highlight reel runs by running over Auburn defenders. He finished the game with 19 carries for 228 yards and three touchdowns. Fournette came up injured after his last touchdown run and there has not been an announcement on the severity of the injury.

Quarterback Brandon Harris passed for just 74 yards as the LSU offense relied heavily on their rushing attack. They had 411 total rushing yards against Auburn.

For Auburn, Jeremy Johnson continued to look unimpressive at quarterback. He was 11-of-19 for 100 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception. Auburn had hoped new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp would be able to turn around the defense, but LSU was able to run at will on Auburn during the entire game.

Here are the highlights from LSU’s dominant performance:

Auburn Finally Scored Again

After a long drought, Auburn found the endzone late in the third quarter. The touchdown made it 38-14 with LSU in the lead.

Fournette Scored a Third Time and Injured Himself

Fournette scored his third touchdown of the game. However, this time he came up holding his side. It is unlikely he will return in the game.

Fournette Continued to Run Over Everyone

Fournette picked up where he left off and continued to run over the Auburn defense. This time, an Auburn defender flipped over his head. Fournette had 228 rushing yards at this point.

Leonard Fournette Ran Over the Entire Auburn Defense

Leonard Fournette ran for this 40-yard touchdown. He completely ran over an Auburn defender at the end of the play. It gave LSU a 24-0 lead against Auburn towards the end of the second quarter.

At this point in the game, Fournette had 15 carries for 169 yards. He also had a 71-yard run earlier in the game.

Jeremy Johnson Threw an Interception

Johnson continued his streak of interceptions. The above interception happened early in the second quarter. It gave LSU the ball with a 14-0 lead.

LSU Jumped Out to a 14-0 Lead

Harris got his first passing touchdown of the season. He connected on a short pass to his tight end for a 1-yard touchdown pass. It was all Tigers early.

Brandon Harris Put LSU on the Board First

Harris found the endzone on an option run. It was all LSU early in the first quarter.

Preview

Quarterback Jeremy Johnson has struggled in both games with five interceptions compared to three touchdown passes. Auburn needed overtime to win last week against Jacksonville State.

LSU has only played one game as their first game was canceled. Last week, they escaped Starkville with a 21-19 win. Mississippi State missed a field goal as time expired as LSU survived a late comeback by the Bulldogs. The Tigers rely heavily on running back Leonard Fournette and their stout defense. They have not completely unleashed new quarterback Brandon Harris.
