Through 2 weeks of the NFL season, there have been zero shutouts in 32 games.

It’s what happens in the league now, teams score. A lot.

That could change in Week 3 as there might be as many as 4 new quarterbacks under center for teams who lost their starters last weekend. The Cowboys and Bears will definitely be without their respective QBs, Tony Romo and Jay Cutler. There’s a good chance the Saints will be without Drew Brees (shoulder), too.

In Cleveland, Josh McCown started Week 1, but left early with a concussion. But he’ll be back in the lineup Sunday vs. Oakland. Johnny Football become Johnny Clipboard once again.

Like I said, there could be some smothering defensive performances in Week 3.

Side note: Looks like safety Kam Chancellor (holdout) will be playing for Seattle when the Seahawks take on the Jay Cutler-less Bears. The Seahawks need him. Maybe not in this game with Jimmy Clausen starting at QB, but as the season goes on.
