It’s only week two, right?

It feels a lot longer for New York Giants fans who, once again, watched their team give up a double digit lead in the fourth quarter last Sunday, falling to the Atlanta Falcons in their home opener.

It was bad. It was disappointing. It was everything that week one loss to Dallas was but also kind of worse because it happened again.

It is also time to forget about it again.

The Giants don’t have long to wallow with a short week of practices ahead of them as they host the Washington Redskins in primetime on Thursday night. Kickoff at MetLife Stadium is slated for 8:25 p.m. ET. Here’s everything you need to know about the matchup per OddsShark.com:

NFL, meet Matt Jones. Matt Jones, meet the NFL.

The Washington Redskins rookie running back racked up 123 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries to lead the squad to a 24-10 victory over the St. Louis Rams last week.

Jones took advantage of a surprisingly successful performance by the Redskins offensive line while long-time Washington back Alfred Morris chipped in 59 yards of his own the ground. After the game, quarterback Kirk Cousins acknowledged the play of the guys in the trenches. “If I could give you five reasons for us playing so well, it would be those five guys,” said Cousins, who threw just four incomplete passes en route to 203 yards and one touchdown.

So, what does that mean in week three?

It means expect to see the Redskins try and expand the run game against a New York defensive line that has been questionable at best in its opening two games. The Giants did not record a single sack against the Cowboys and got only minimal pressure against the Falcons.
