Kacie McDonnell and Eric Hosmer have been going strong for the past few months after the pair each posted photos together on their respective social media account this summer.
Here’s what Hosmer posted on his Instagram:
In fact, McDonnell has been front and center with Hosmer throughout the Kansas City Royals postseason run and was even photographed in the clubhouse with the first baseman after the team clinched its second straight ALCS title.
It hasn’t taken long for McDonnell and Hosmer to become the toast of the Kansas City sports world. Their still-young relationship has been reported on and analyzed since those very first Instagram posts. Of course, it makes sense since the couple is almost constantly in the public eye.
McDonnell works as the morning traffic reporter for local NBC affiliate KSHB every week day and also works as part of the Sporting Kansas City broadcast team.
But while McDonnell and Hosmer seem pretty serious, this isn’t the first time the reporter has been linked to a pro athlete.

McDonnell and the former Georgia quarterback first started dating while he was still in college in 2013 and were engaged for several months before officially calling things off i January, 2015.
The break-up came as a big-time to surprise to many of McDonnell’s over 87,000 Instagram followers. Just weeks before news broke that she and Murray had called things off, McDonnell had posted photos of them together and was spotted in Philadelphia with the quarterback scoping out wedding locations.
McDonnell told The Philadelphia Inquirer:
I’m loving my career in Kansas City. I’m really committed to being a part of this community for the time being. The engagement is off. I wish him the best, it’s best to part ways. I’m moving on with my life.
McDonnell moved from Philadelphia to Kansas City after Murray was drafted by the Chiefs in 2014. She had previously worked as a traffic reporter for FOX 29 in Philadelphia and was also a sideline reporter for locally broadcast Eagles games.

Before she was engaged to Aaron Murray, McDonnell was linked to former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder.
Of course, the relationship didn’t last long. Ponder is now married to ESPN reporter Samantha Steele – who now goes by Samantha Ponder on TV. The pair met on the set of College Game Day in 2012 and their relationship was big-time news at the time after the quarterback tweeted at her that October. He told media at the time:
This is big news, huh? Good Lord. There’s been a thousand articles today about it. You can’t really worry about it. You’ve got to try to keep it private, but that’s just part of the industry, part of the job. I don’t know. Comes with the territory. I’m proud of the relationship. I can brag. I’ve got bragging rights, I believe.
Christian and Saantha Ponder became parents in 2014 when they welcomed their daughter Bowden Sainte-Claire Ponder.

Although it didn’t receive the media attention of her other relationships, McDonnell was also romantically linked to Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jonathan Pettibone in 2013.
The two were spotted together at Chase Utley’s All-Star Animals Casino Night in 2013 and McDonnell posted a photo of the two on her Twitter page.
