Houston, we’ve got movement.

In sports betting, no one position is more valuable than the quarterback. So it’s not surprise that following the announcement that Andrew Luck was inactive tonight, sharks started pouring money onto the Texans, who were only a small favorite.

Despite being the Thursday game, Colts-Texans was the last NFL game to have lines posted this week. The Westgate Superbook posted the first line Wednesday at even, but that line quickly started to shift, first towards Indy then Houston. This morning following Luck’s injury news, Westgate adjusted the line to Houston -4.5.

In addition to the point spread, Luck’s absence has also made changes to the point total. Originally posted at 45, the total has dropped all the way down to 41. It’s worth noting that the Texans gave up 42 points in three quarters to the Atlanta Falcons last week.

Oddsmakers haven’t put a ton of faith in Matt Hasselbeck, and neither should bettors. Hasselbeck is dealing with a virus that hospitalized him early in the week, and QB Josh Johnson is a legitimate option to play tonight. Watt and Clowney are salivating.
