Soccer fans will miss the sideline antics of former Mexico head coach Miguel Herrera. Herrera was fired as coach after an alleged incident in a Philadelphia airport. According to Fox Sports, Herrera got into an altercation with a reporter. Herrera was accused of hitting the reporter in the neck and challenging him to a fight outside. The journalist had been critical of Herrera’s managerial skills throughout his time with Mexico.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Mexico has already hired a new head coach although they have not confirmed the signing. Juan Carlos Osorio resigned from managing Sao Palo FC and informed reporters that he would become the new coach for Mexico.
Osorio has coached soccer all over the world including stops in the MLS, Colombia and Brazil. A formal announcement is expected in Los Angeles after Mexico faces the United States.
