If you looked at their records alone, one might think this Sunday’s afternoon matchup between the Giants and the Saints was a mediocre one between two middling teams. But their records don’t tell the full story of where each franchise is headed.

The Giants seem rejuvenated after the return of star defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul to the team. Pierre-Paul won’t play this weekend, but he’s back and the team is feeding off of his determination. New Orleans, meanwhile, has a chance to win three straight for the first time all season and perhaps begin a meaningful run at the postseason.
