United hope to put a poor seven days behind them, as they leave the friendly-yet goalless confines of Old Trafford for a meeting with Crystal Palace.
United hasn’t been scoring goals, but they haven’t been allowing them either. Outside of one goal against CSKA Moscow, United has played over six hours of shutout soccer. That bodes well against Crystal Palace, who has been outscored 11-2 across all competitions in October. United is just two points behind table leader Manchester City, and needs to keep winning to force pressure on their neighbors.
Even with the recent slide, Palace has climbed to seventh in the standings. That could change Saturday, as Palace has rallied against the big teams lately. They started Chelsea’s downfall early this season, and last year they beat Tottenham, City, and swept Liverpool.
