The Netherlands saw their hopes of automatically qualifying for Euro 2016 evaporate as back-to-back losses to Turkey and Iceland crushed the hopes of the Dutch.
Danny Blind’s team get to bounce back as they face Kazakhstan, who are bottom of Group A with two matches remaining.
The Netherlands know what its like to miss out on a major tournament, having failed to qualify for the 2002 World Cup. But with 24 teams reaching France next summer, it’s stunning the Dutch may not be one of them.
Here is the Group A table after eight matches. The top two teams automatically qualify for the finals, while the third-placed team enters the playoffs.
