WWE Live From Madison Square Garden 2015: Reactions & Review

WWE Live at MSG Lesnar

Here’s our final review of WWE Live From Madison Square Garden 2015!

Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus and Rusev (with Summer Rae)

Reactions: As far as house show tag matches go, this was your usual two-on-two affair. It was pretty unexpected to see these two singles matches get transformed into a tag match, which made us pretty happy to see. We can take Sheamus/Orton again just as long as it involves two other Superstars. This was a very fun tag team bout. The action moved at a fast pace throughout, even when the heels were working over Ziggler. It’s always nice to see WWE wrestlers in a house show environment since they seem to try new things or just have more fun. All four men put on a good contest here. Nice start to the show.

Stardust vs. Neville

Reactions: We have to hand props to both men’s dancing abilities. We think Stardust and Neville’s opening match hip swivels were pretty hilarious. Both of these agile Superstars tend to put on some entertaining matches. And to no one’s surprise, they did it here again. Stardust was even more of a maniac here as he beat down Neville and flopped all over the ring like a madman. Once Neville got into his 2nd gear, he pulled out all his top moves. That Asai Moonsault looked as amazing as ever. We enjoyed the extra wrinkle to the match where Stardust played with Neville’s cape. The Red Arrow put Stardust away and capped off another good contest in Stardust/Neville’s ongoing beef.

Team Bella (Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Alicia Fox) vs. Paige, Becky Lynch and WWE Divas Champion Charlotte (6-Diva Tag Team Match)

Reactions: Wait, Team PCB’s wrestling…TOGETHER? That’s pretty odd considering how Paige has treated her two friends lately. Anyways, it was apparent that their once tight teamwork broke down into a broken bond. This was your usual 6-Diva tag team match. If you’ve seen one of them since the Divas Revolution started, chances are you’ve seen them all. That was the case here. This wasn’t terrible, mind you. It was just…there. The only aspect of this bout that stood out was Team PCB’s breakdown and Paige getting left to falter at the hands of Nikki Bella. This was a passable Divas match, but nothing you should go out of your way to re-watch.

Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars

Kevin Owens (c) vs. Chris Jericho (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Reactions: As expected, these two Canadian greats put on a fun back and forth matchup for the IC Championship. Jericho hasn’t lost a step, has he? He proved he was still nimble enough to put on great matches with this bout against Owens here. Owens was game as always as he fed Jericho all of his moves and berated him the whole time. Once Y2J made his comeback, this title match truly entered its 2nd gear. The sequence where Owens countered Jericho’s Lionsault, Owens landed his Cannonball into the corner, Jericho countered Owens’ Swanton Bomb and Jericho locked in his Walls of Jericho was awesome. With more time, this match could have been even more amazing. As it is though, this was a great match between two highly regarded ring technicians. Owens position as one of the top Superstars in the current WWE landscape continues to strengthen.
