Jose Mourinho is on the edge of the chopping block when Chelsea takes on Ukranian side Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday. Chelsea, normally unstoppable at Stamford Bridge, has lost three league games there this season. They were unbeaten at home in EPL action all of last season.
While it hasn’t been explicitly stated that Mourinho will be sacked with a loss, it would signal the beginning of the end for the manager who led Chelsea to the Premier League title just two years ago. The speculation is that if Mourinho loses against Kyiv and to Stoke on Saturday, there would be no option but to end his time with the Blues.
Now they trail Kyiv by one point, and are looking to stay alive in group play. While it isn’t an elimination game, Chelsea must come away with points to stay in contention for advancement. Kyiv is unbeaten in group play so far this season.
