The name David Johnson is about to get a lot more popular among fantasy owners. Fox’s Jay Glazier reported that Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson has a fractured tibia and is going to miss time.

Andre Ellington left the game against the 49ers early with a toe injury. All this means rookie running back David Johnson is about to inherit a lot more carries for the Cardinals.

Johnson has had two straight productive fantasy weeks with both players playing. He was on our waiver wire column prior to the recent news of Johnson’s injury but now becomes a must add in all leagues regardless of formats.

Johnson has had double digit fantasy points in four games this season and the production happened in limited action. If he gets the majority of carries like most expect, Johnson’s value skyrockets. It is also important to consider he plays on one of the best offenses in the league.

Head coach Bruce Arians has faith in him. “I have all the confidence in the world in him starting,” Arians said when asked if he felt comfortable with Johnson being the feature back.

Johnson was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals out of Northern Iowa. He had one of the best performances of any player in last year’s Senior Bowl:
