The New York Jets are looking to get back on track. So are the Miami Dolphins.

It’s convenient then, that the two teams will face off on Sunday afternoon. Gang Green comes into the AFC East tilt as 4.5-point favorites according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.

Of course, it won’t be particularly easy for either squad to get a metaphorical leg up during the Week 12 matchup. The Jets defense, which had been so dominant early this season, took a hit earlier this week after cornerback Darrelle Revis was ruled out due to a concussion.

“[Revis feels a] little better each day, but not good enough for physical activity,” head coach Todd Bowles said. “The [concussion] protocol is the protocol, but we got to clear him and he’s got to feel better. There is always concern when somebody gets a concussion. You just don’t know how bad it affects them.”

That leaves a good amount of pressure on the rest of the New York secondary to shut down Jarvis Landry. The Miami wideout leads the Dolphins with 64 catches and 653 receiving yards. The Jets limited him to four catches for 40 yards in Week 4, but without Revis, Landry could get free just a little bit easier.

Still, despite the possible defensive issues, New York’s recent history, particularly against Miami, should help give odds-watchers a bit of confidence.

New York is 4-1 ATS in its lat five games against Miami and the Dolphins are just 4-11 ATS in their last five games. Reaching back a little bit further, Miami is 8-13-3 ATS in its last 24 games when playing on the road against NY Jets.

Keep in mind though, the Jets have been less-than-impressive at home against Miami. In fact, according to OddsShark, New York is just 1-6 SU in its last seven games when playing at MetLife against the Dolphins.

The total for Sunday afternoon’s Miami and New York tilt is set at 43.5 according to the sportsbooks. The total has gone UNDER in the Dolphin’s last five games on the road against the Jets. Meanwhile, the total has gone OVER in five of New York’s last six games.

The OddsShark computer is predicting a 16.8 – 29.4 New York victory.
