The Miami Dolphins need a victory. The New York Jets need a victory.

They face off this week in an AFC East rivalry matchup that could make or break both squad’s respective seasons. Sounds like fun, right?

The Dolphins are fresh off a disappointing showing against the Dallas Cowboys while the Jets are desperate to find some of their early-season success and defensive dominance. There’s nothing like a loss to the Houston Texans to jumpstart a full-team turnaround.

This one is going to be emotional and physical and both teams are determined to hit someone. Here’s everything you need to know about the game:

Game Preview: It’s difficult to call any game a “must-win,” but this Week 12 matchup between the Jets and Dolphins is just that; for both teams.

New York comes into the matchup on a rollercoaster season that has included defensive dominance, offensive woes and absolutely questionable decisions. Gang Green was seemingly unstoppable in the early goings of this year, but over the past few weeks (including last Sunday’s lost to the Texans) the squad has faltered a bit, losing four of their last five games.

The Jets need to get back to the defensive success that led to the victories earlier this year and despite the losses, New York’s defense still ranks pretty well in the league. In fact, the Jets are third in the NFL in rushing yards allowed (91.6), fifth in total yards allowed (323.0), and 11th in both, points per game (20.8) and passing yards per contest (231.4).

They’ll need every single one of those rankings against a Miami offense that has been up-and-down this year. If the Jets can get in the backfield, pressure Ryan Tannehill will every snap, they have a good chance of notching their sixth win of the season.
