Despite being losers of three straight contests, the Oakland Raiders are a one-point favorite heading into their meeting with the Tennessee Titans. Because as bad as they’ve been on the road, the Titans have been much, much worse at home.

The Tennessee Titans are losers of ten straight home games. Think about that. You’re supposed to win home games. And yet the Titans have lost ten straight. What gives?

Marcus Mariota and the Titans were supposed to undergo growing pains this season, but they weren’t supposed to actually hurt. The Titans have surrendered 33 sacks this season, one of the NFL’s highest totals. Mariota, without using his dual-threat capabilities, still took a hit against the Dolphins that forced him to miss two weeks of his rookie season. Interim head coach Mike Mularkey has promised to do a better job of protecting Mariota, but he has failed through three weeks.

These teams have met just three times since 2007, but the Raiders have struggled in those meetings. In fact, they’re the only team worse at Nissan Stadium than the Titans. Oakland is 1-8 in its last nine road games against Tennessee.

The Raiders, while an inconsistent spread play, have had two occasions this season where they’ve hit the over for three straight weeks. That potent offense has returned to Earth, as the Raiders could only muster 27 points combined in the last two weeks. But according to OddsShark.com, Tennessee has finished under the total in five of their last six games in which they were a home underdog.

The OddsShark computer is predicting a 23.8 – 23.4 Raiders victory.
