The Madrid fullback was the unlikely hero in the first half of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain. The Spanish international pounced on a loose ball on the outside of PSG’s penalty area, and lodged what looked like an attempted cross into the side netting.
It’s the first goal between these sides in over 100 minutes of action, as they played to a scoreless draw two weeks ago. Both teams sit atop Group A with seven points, and are most likely both through to the Round of 16.
It is the first goal of Nacho’s UCL career. The defender only has one other professional goal, scored during the 2014-15 La Liga campaign.
