Two disappointed teams face off in the final game of Week 14, as the Giants try to snap a three-game skid against Miami. Both the Giants and Dolphins have fallen short of playoff expectations this year, with the Dolphins all but eliminated and the Giants on the edge of joining them.
For the Giants, the losses this season have been particularly frustrating. They’ve now endured three straight losses, and the Giants have had a chance to win all three in the final quarter. Sunday’s ten-point collapse to the neighbor Jets may have been the final straw for Tom Coughlin, who has been told he needs to make the playoffs to retain his job.
Miami’s win over the Ravens last week, only because it took the Dolphins so long to figure out their offense. After OC Bill Lazor was fired, Miami ran the ball 25 times last week and leaned on Lamar Miller. The result was a victory, and fans can expect to see a steady dose of Miller from here until the end of the season.
