It’s no surprise, both the Giants and Dolphins have struggled this year. The difference is while the Dolphins have been a meltdown, the Giants have suffered through a season of last-second defeats.

If every game this season ended with 75 seconds left, the Giants would be 9-3 and looking at a first-round bye in the NFC playoffs. Instead they’ve lost three straight games, and Tom Coughlin’s job is on the line tonight against Miami.

That’s because as bad as the Giants have been, the NFC East has been just as bad. The Giants need a win to force a three-way tie in the division, but face three playoff-caliber teams (Panthers, Vikings, Eagles) in the final weeks of the season.

At 5-7, the Dolphins need to run the table to even have a sniff at the AFC Wild Card. They now shift to the role of spoilers, and there Dan Campbell’s team can still impact the playoffs. A win tonight would eliminate New York from the playoffs, and the same could be said about a meeting with the Colts in two weeks. With the head coach and lead coordinators all temporary hires, Campbell and others will make their case for full-time hires over the season’s final month.

Here’s everything you need to know about tonight:
