Liverpool look to build off of their Boxing Day win over Leicester when they head to the Stadium of Light to finish off 2015. Klopp’s men scored a 1-0 victory over the Foxes a few days ago, lifting them to tenth in the table. A win today would vault them to sixth, and just five points outside the top five to close the year.
As has been the case with Liverpool this season, injuries are the name of the game. The latest victim is Divock Origi, who went down early against Leicester and will be unavailable today. Jordan Ibe, who was out a with an illness on Saturday, has returned to action.
At 19th in the table, Sunderland have lost four straight league fixtures heading into today. Their most recent victory came on November 28, when the side defeated Stoke at home 2-0.
